State-Level Efforts You Can Support, NOW

(with grades from the CAP report, above)

Georgia: D

The  Coalition for Good Governance is a small organization with a remarkable reach.

CGG, a 501(c)3, filed a lawsuit in Georgia to force the state to vote in a way that is verifiable.  Led by voting activist Marilyn Marks, the CGG, in Curling v. Kemp, demands that Secretary of State Kemp cease using insecure voting machines and rather use a verifiable method.   An Amicus Brief has been filed jointly by Common Cause, the National Election Defense Council, and Protect Democracy.

Kansas: D/F

End CrossCheck, led by Anita Parsa, is working to dismantle this giant voter suppression project.

Interstate CrossCheck, the program designed by Kris Kobach, uses sloppy, discredited algorithms to throw hundreds of thousands of eligible voters off the rolls.   This effort could have deep,  national impact, as 26 states still send their voter rolls for supposed de-duplication to a system that does not work and leaves voter rolls vulnerable.

Mississippi: D

Mississippi Votes is a woman-run organization looking to register the 350,000 unregistered voters in MS.    Follow them at @MSVotes and help their campaign to register people.

Nebraska

Public Citizen is collaborating with Common Cause in the Secure Our Votes coalition.  This may be the most informative project in the country.  Recently, Public Citizen called on ES&S, manufacturer of insecure voting machines that a whopping 44% of Americans vote on, to take action to protect our elections.  Looking for a group IN Nebraska to protest them!
